LAS VEGAS, NV

Red Rock Canyon

I don't know if it's just me, but there are certain things that just take your breath away and make you realize how small and insignificant you really are. Mountains are one of those things. There's nothing quite like gazing up at a monumentally massive rock formation that seems to reach up and touch the heavens. These are some of the (many) shots that I took while on a driving tour of Red Rock Canyon in an attempt to capture the natural beauty of the park.

Scenes From The City

My first day in Vegas was spent meeting family members I didn't know I had, and exploring the strip. The highlight of the day was at the end, when we took a trip on the High Roller Ferris Wheel and got a glimpse of the city from above.

Hoover Dam

I couldn't fly all the way out to Nevada and not take a day trip to see Hoover Dam. One of the greatest feats of engineering, Hoover is a true monument to human innovation, and our ability to shape the environment around us.

A Walk Through The Desert

Since we had made the trip out to Hoover Dam, we decided that it would be worth our time to check out the Historic Railroad Trail right next door. Although I wouldn't recommend the trek in the afternoon sun, which resulted in some unfortunate sunburns and tan lines, I would recommend checking out the trail. While walking along the same path that trains once took to deliver supplies to Hoover we encountered many stunning views, as well as lots of wildlife, making for an enjoyable experience.
